Digital Services Act (DSA)
In 2022, the European Union implemented a new set of rules referred to as the Digital Services Act (DSA). This legislation aims to standardize content regulations throughout the EU and establish distinct procedures for moderating online content. The DSA is applicable to a wide range of online services, encompassing marketplaces, app stores, online video-sharing platforms, and search engines.
ExoClick qualifies as an Intermediary Service Provider (ISP) within the meaning of the DSA. Consequently, we have adjusted several of our well-established trust and safety procedures and modified the functioning of certain services to adhere to the specific requirements outlined in the DSA.
Over many years across ExoClick, we have made investments in people, processes, policies and technologies that address some of the requirements of the DSA. For example, we provide different notice and action mechanisms on our website through which individuals or companies who are affected can report an infringement of their copyright or any type of illegal content. We also have a Compliance team, composed of trained employees, that work 365 days a year in order to check campaigns and landing pages manually for malvertising and non compliance.
As a result of the DSA’s entry into force and our obligations as an ISP, we have made significant efforts to adapt our guidelines, action mechanisms, measures and tools used to moderate content to comply with the DSA’s specific requirements.
