One of the ways in which ExoClick does so is by supporting Safer Internet Day 2025, which will happen on the 11th February 2025 this year. The aim of this initiative is to raise awareness about issues affecting internet users, especially young people. Another way in which we promote online transparency and safety is by being a member of WeProtect Global Alliance since 2023, and regularly donate to and work with the Internet Watch Foundation (IWF). What is Safer Internet Day 2025 and why is it important?

What is Safer Internet Day 2025? This event is celebrated globally every year to promote the safe and positive use of digital technology for young people. The topic for this year is “Together for a better internet”, and the global focus day will take place on Tuesday 11th February. More celebratory events will take place across the globe, throughout the entire month. Coordinated by the UK Safer Internet Centre, the event will take place in over a hundred countries coordinated by the joint Insafe/INHOPE network. The initiative is supported by the European Commission, and national Safer Internet Centres across Europe. How ExoClick promotes compliance and end user protection

One of the ways in which we support Safer Internet Day 2025 and how ExoClick enforces Compliance and end user protection, our Compliance Team works 24/7 to review all advertising campaigns as well as Publisher websites to ensure that all ads meet our strict rules and guidelines ensuring ad compliance and end user protection. The Compliance Team carries out very important work to protect our Publishers and our Advertisers on the platform including: Ad campaign checks before they go live and whilst they are running to ensure no malicious or non-compliant changes are made. We also verify Publisher sites before going on our network to ensure quality and compliance at all times.

As well as offering high quality verified traffic sources, ExoClick uses automated tools including ad security and ad quality solution AdSecure, used to scan ad creatives and all parts of the ad supply chain in order to detect potential malvertising attacks and suspicious activity. By automating the detection of links being flagged as malicious by antivirus vendors via an API connecting to AdSecure, our Compliance Team detected and instantly blocked 4535 malvertising attempts during 2024.

ExoClick is a member of the Internet Watch Foundation (IWF)

ExoClick has been a member of the IWF since November 2021 and has celebrates Safer Internet Day every year. IWF is an independent not-for-profit organization supported by the global internet industry and the European Commission. The IWF works internationally to make the internet a safer place during Safer Internet Day 2025 and all year round, by identifying and removing online child sexual abuse images and videos.

ExoClick’s membership involves help with funding the IWF as well as collaborating by using their URL list and their keywords list, which provides cryptic terms associated with child sexual abuse material. Additionally, ExoClick’s Compliance team will share any detections of URLs that feature child sexual abuse content for the IWF to review and alert relevant authorities.

ExoClick reported 12 cases of websites that featured child exploitation content in 2024 and in each instance either the content, or the entire website was taken offline through the IWF’s work. We are determined to play our part in stamping out such content circulating globally and protecting internet users and children from online harms and exploitation, by ensuring measures are taken to clean up the internet through working with such organizations.

ExoClick’s WeProtect Global Alliance membership

In 2023 ExoClick became a member of the WeProtect Global Alliance. The WeProtect Global Alliance is an international initiative that aims to end the sexual exploitation of children online. It brings together governments, technology companies, civil society organizations, and law enforcement agencies to collaborate and take action against this issue. The alliance focuses on deterrence, legislation, technology, and victim support. It strengthens law enforcement, advocates and collaborates with technology companies to provide support to victims of abuse.
